What are the USP requirements for pH?

I bought a bottle of Kroger Stomach Relief (generic for Pepto Bismol) and I noticed on the bottle that it said "does not meet USP requirements for pH." I was able to find out what USP is, but I couldn't find anything about pH. Does anyone know what the requirements are and why Pepto Bismol does not meet them?
